SERPONG - On Wednesday, August 21st 2024, the English Department of Bunda Mulia University Serpong arranged a welcoming session, exclusive for the freshmen of the English department.
Ms. Suwarni conducted the English study program introduction presentation, which encompassed campus accreditation, leaders and lecturers of the English study program, and an introduction to the 1st semester’s courses. Following this, she continued by displaying the achievements of the English major and showcasing some of the activities that had been held by the study program over the years.
Introduction of ACES & ELF to Students
After the study program presentation had come to an end, it continued to the introduction of the English student association, "ACES & ELF Presentation". The presentation was led by the president of ACES & ELF, Graciella Kane Winarto. This session aimed to provide the freshmen with the opportunity to become acquainted and enhance their engagement in the English study program.
Thus, this session introduced everything about ACES & ELF, including their
vision & mission, roles within ACES & ELF, and activities that have
been held by ACES & ELF over the years.
Interestingly, it ran more time than expected, reflecting the enthusiasm and ambition of the freshmen. Finally, the three participants remained standing in the Spelling Bee game, the game coordinators moved on to the next game, Connecting Words. Just like the previous game, the game coordinators again explained rules to the freshmen.
Show & Tell Session
Now, at the final session, the “Show & Tell Session” occurred. In this session, each of the freshmen brought their autobiographies on paper, interpreting their dreams and goals as students of Bunda Mulia University. Five volunteers bravely stepped forward to share their autobiographies in front of the class.
Impressively, these freshmen shared truly interesting dreams and goals. Their
willingness to share their aspirations was admirable and deserving of
appreciation.
